Multi Radiance Medical's GameDay Super Pulsed Laser Offers Athletes Alternative to Prescription Painkillers, Provides Safe, Drug-Free Relief from Pain and Stiffness

For Immediate Release:

2/06/2014 (Solon, Ohio) — In response to a Washington University School of Medicine study showing that NFL players are four times more likely to misuse opioid pain medications than the general population, Multi Radiance Medical (MRM), manufacturer and marketer of FDA-cleared lasers for drug-free pain relief, urges the athletic community to seek alternative options for pain relief.

“The abuse of opioids is an important public health issue that impacts athletes all over the world,” says Max Kanarsky, president and CEO, MRM, pointing to the GameDay Super Pulsed Laser, which offers safe, convenient pain relief to help reduce and eliminate reliance on painkillers. “Clearly, this study indicates that preventive treatment and alternative forms of pain relief are needed. More than 4,000 published studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of laser and light therapy – a drug-free way to alleviate pain.”

The study found that 52 percent of the retired players claimed they used prescription pain medication during their playing days. Of those, 71 percent said they misused the drugs then, and 15 percent of the misusers acknowledged misusing the medication within the past 30 days.

GameDay Super Pulsed Laser’s settings maximize each phase of training to alleviate pain and enhance performance, helping athletes maintain training intensity, increase micro-circulation for immediate benefits, and hasten recovery from bumps and bruises, muscle sprains, stiffness and spasms.

Prominent researcher professor Ernesto Leal-Junior, Ph.D., MSc, PT, Nove de Julho University, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and world renowned phototherapy expert, adds, “It is widely known that painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs have only short-term efficacy and that there are serious side-effects related to medium and long-term use. Low-level laser therapy is a proven alternative to these drugs since it has high efficacy in decreasing pain and controlling inflammation, and there aren’t side-effects reported related to its long-term use.”

Multi Radiance Medical is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of FDA-cleared lasers for drug-free pain relief. This proprietary technology is considered the safest laser on the market and is utilized to treat over 300 conditions worldwide. For over two decades, Multi Radiance Medical has served physical therapists, doctors of chiropractic, veterinarians, athletic trainers and sports medicine professionals including MDs, DOs, physiatrists and other rehabilitation specialists.
