Arthritis pain in hands and knee joints
"I have
been suffering from severe chronic pain in my knee
joints which made bending my knees and going up
and down the stairs excruciatingly painful.
After ten days of daily TerraQuant
treatment, I feel a noticeable
improvement. I can now bend my
knees and can walk up and down the stairs with
greater ease. I also have arthritis in my hands,
and as a hairdresser who shampoos women's hair
every day, each time I wet my hands, I feel strong
pain.
After using TerraQuant on my
hands for fifteen consecutive days, I can feel a
noticeable reduction in pain. I continue to use
TerraQuant every day or every other day both on my
knees and on the arthritis in my hands.
I thank my daughter every day for
buying me TerraQuant as a present."

Ask the
Expert
What is
"frequency selection"?
Numerous
experiments have shown the influence of
electromagnetic fields on people and
animals.
Certain
frequencies can elicit strong changes in the
function of the body, in particular the lower
range of frequencies (approximately 0.25 - 120
Hz); these are termed bio-effective.
The existence
of the bio-effective frequencies can be explained
by forced or parametrical resonance with its own
frequencies of the micro resonators of the
organism (molecules, blood elements, cells,
membranes, DNA).

Tax
incentives: There has never
been a better time to finance new equipment and
maximize your 2009 tax deductions. The tax
incentives (section 179 of tax code) could result
in significant tax savings. In fact, the
amount you'll save in taxes could be more than the
amount you'll pay in lease payments the entire
first year. Bonus
depreciation: In 2009 only,
the new law also allows for bonus depreciation of
50% onamounts exceeding the $250,000 Section 179
deduction. Talk with your tax
advisor regarding opportunities in this
area. One source of detailed

Payment
Options: Interested in a laser
therapy device? There are several appealing

Question: I am the
head of a hospital PT department and I
am unsure of the efficacy of laser
Is there much research on
laser?
Answer: Many
clinicians ask this question since laser
therapy is relatively new and historically has not
been taught in university programs.
Additionally, the concept of
evidence-based practice has made every practicing
clinician
evaluate "new" technologies in a fashion unlike
previous generations.
Clinicians are
weary to try any new technology without it being
supported by evidence based research. This
new golden standard of practice has both helped
and hindered the profession. While it forces
the therapist to critically evaluate outcomes, it
also compels the clinician to only select
randomized, double blind, controlled proven
techniques. Rarely, do these exist in the
world, as patients are individuals and no one has
produced the "magic" bullet cure all.
Laser therapy
is by far one of the most researched modalities on
the market. Currently there are over 3000
published research and case studies. Almost
150 articles on laser therapy are being added each
year to Pub-Med. Simply
"goggling" of laser therapy does not tend to
return quality research information, rather a
plethora of sales and marketing information clog
the results.
To the lay
clinician, the lack of readily available web
research seems to suggest that no credible
literature exists on the subject. This could
not be farther from the truth. Finding
quality research relies on the search engine and
words. Currently there is no agreed upon
term for laser therapy. It can be classified
at laser therapy, cold laser therapy, low level
laser therapy, photobiostimulation,
photobiomodulation, phototherapy...etc. This
lack of set nomenclature for the technology and
procedure complicates the search.
Photomedicine and Laser Surgery
published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. is a
peer-reviewed journal on the topic. Their
website can be found at: http://www.liebertonline.com/loi/pho.
Interested clinicians can browse the issues or
perform site searches to narrow topics and
interests.
Additionally,
Jan Tuner and Lars Hode, typically authors of the
acclaimed "Laser Therapy Handbook", run the
Swedish Medical Laser Society. Their website
http://www.laser.nu
is one of the
most comprehensive archives of laser
abstracts. Visitors can search for topics,
read articles, industry news, reviews and even
participate in web board discussions.
Interested
clinicians should explore these websites to gather
the necessary information to make informed
decisions regarding the addition of laser to their
practices.
